What they are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB) is similar but isn’t sent to the server. Both are regulated by art. 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE and the ePrivacy Directive: those not needed for the service you request are only used with your consent.

cruto | Keeping you logged in (signed, HttpOnly, across crutoai.com) | 1 year, renewed when you use Cruto | Necessary |
cruto_lang | Remembering the language you choose | 1 year | Necessary (a preference you set) |
cruto_consent | Remembering your cookie choice | 1 year | Necessary |

Storage in your browser
So the editor works and you don’t lose your work, we store in your browser: the light or dark theme (crudo-tema), editor preferences (subtitle and B-roll styles, steps seen, timeline options), your projects and files in progress (IndexedDB cruto, cruto-proyecto) and downloaded fonts (cruto-fuentes). It all stays on your device, isn’t sent to anyone, and you can clear it from your browser settings.
Third-party cookies
We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Only when you take the step do you visit other sites that set their own necessary cookies: Stripe on the payment page (checkout.stripe.com, to prevent fraud) and Google when signing in with Google or connecting YouTube (accounts.google.com). Their policies apply. The editor loads some fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP with Google, without cookies.
Google one-tap sign-in (Google One Tap): if you accept it in the cookie preferences, the login screen loads a script from accounts.google.com that shows your Google account and uses Google’s cookies. Without your permission it isn’t loaded.
Cookie-free analytics
We measure visits and key clicks with our own system that uses no cookies or identifiers and doesn’t store the IP: it only adds up daily totals (page, country, device type, language and referring site). That’s why it doesn’t need your consent.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice any time in Cookie preferences (also in the footer of every page and in Settings → Privacy). If you withdraw affiliate consent, we delete the cruto_ref cookie. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser, though without the necessary ones you won’t be able to log in.
